- The minimum dose for people under 6 years of age is 4 mg per day. The minimum dose for people over 6 years of age is 6 mg per day.
- The Upper Limit (UL) for:
- infants (0 to 12 months): not possible to establish; source of intake should be formula and food only.

1 to 3 years: 10 mg per day of niacin
4 to 8 years: 15 mg per day of niacin
9 to 13 years: 20 mg per day of niacin
adolescents (14 to 18 years): 30 mg per day of niacin
adults (19 years and up): 35 mg per day of niacin
pregnancy and lactation
14 to 18 years: 30 mg per day of niacin
19 years and up: 35 mg per day of niacin
